INCESSANT RAIN IN VICTORIA
DAMAGE TO ROADS AND BRIDGES
MELBOURNE HOMES FLOODED (Received July 5, 11.19 p.m.) MELBOURNE, July 5. ! Weather Bureau officials declare that Victoria is emerging from one of the longest periods of incessant rain, which interrupted most of the sporting fixtures, and interfered with telephone and telegraphic communications and aerial services. The rain has done enormous damage to roads and bridges. Lbw-lying areas in Kensington, Footscray, and along the Yarra river were completely submerged and flood waters invaded homes and gardens.
