POPULATION OF SOUTH AFRICA
♦ NEARLY 2,000,000 WHITES IN TOTAL OF 9,000,000 I (Received June 17, 4.54 p.m.) PRETORIA, June 16. The census reveals the total population of the Union of South Africa to be 9,479,985, an increase of 2,551,405 since 1921. Europeans number 1,979,390, an increase of 459,901.
