GIFT PARTIES
Misses Mary Armstrong and Muriel -Clements (Akaroa) were hostesses at an enjoyable dance given in St. Peter's 'Parish Hall, in hoonur of Miss Avril Kearney and Mr L. Moore, of Hickory, who will be married shortly. The guests brought many miscellaneous gifts. Mrs J. E. McNabb played the dance music. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss M. Armstrong and Mr L. Moore. Those present were Mrs F. G. Armstrong, Mr and Mrs G. A. E. Armstrong, Misses Avril Kearney, MurieJ Clements, Mary, Stephanie, and Ngaire Armstrong, Leila Narbey, Noel Henning, Pat. and Natalie Kearney, Eileen McKay, Ismay Hayward, Pat. Davis, Elsie Keegan, Dorothy Leete, Coleen Mcßride, Shirley Oliver, Ivy Hayward, Pearl Ferris, Olive Kingston, Roma Wright, Doris Smith, Messrs L. Moore, W. Moore, V. Armstrong, L. Le Lievre, L. Kearney, R. R. McKenzie, W. Thompson, W. Henning, J. Wright, J. Helps, S. Le Vaillant, Harry ana Herbert Wright, K. MctJride, F. Crisp (Christchurch), and K. Broad (Christchurch). Miss Eileen Henry, who will leave next week for Sydney, where she is to be married, was the guest of honour at a party given by Miss Pyrl Easterbrook, at her home in Onslow street, St. Albans. The guests, each of whom brought gifts of tea and guest towels, were Mesdames S. Henry, A. Easterbrook, W. Steere, Misses Eileen Henry, Rhona Nicholls, Elsie Sellick, Alice Child, Edith Maginness, Marcelie Easterbrook, Doris Cragg, Grace Kidd, Marjorie Black and Pyrl Easterbrook.
