CANTERBURY LAND BOARD
TRANSFERS AND ALLOTMENTS GRANTED The monthly meeting of the Canterbury Land Board was held in the Lands Office, Christchurch, beginning on Tuesday, June 9. Mr J. F. Quinn, Commissioner of Crown Lands, presided, and also present were Messrs T. Gee, E. Macdonald, D. C. Kidd, and J. J. Gregan. The chairman and members extended a welcome to Mr Gregan on his appointment to the board. Appreciation was expressed of the services rendered by Mr R. F. Henderson during his term as a board member. There were 82 cases on the agenda paper, including eight applications to transfer and three applications for land. The following applications to transfer were approved:—Section 9, block VIII. Lowry Peaks, Cheviot—L. M. Gibson to J. A. McClintock; section 21, block XIV., Waiau, Annan—T. O. Bean to A. J. Clark; sections 3,4, 5, 6, reserve 1815, block XI., Waitaki S.D.—Estate John Meehan as mortgagee, W. Hanaftn to E. G. Coles; R.S. 36435, 36436. block X., Westerfield S.D. —Mrs M. Burgess to H. T. Thompson; section sa, block IV., Hanmer township, block 11.. Lyndon S.D., P. Brcckon to C. P. Agar; section 2, block IX. Waiau S.D., Lyndon—H. T. Beaven to S. W. T. Beaven, C, E. Beaven, F. M. Beaven, and H. A. Beaven. The following applications for land were approved:—Section 15, part reserve 3941, Hanmer township, allotted to Mrs C. Basher; part, Hakataramea riverbed fronting rural sections 31847 and 35935. blocks V. and VIII., Hakataramea S.D., year-to-year license, to K. Kelcher; section 40, part reserve 3941, Hanmer township, allotted to A. Kepple.
