ON FIELDS OF SPORT
CHIEF ATTRACTIONS FOR TO-DAY Further rounds in the senior Rugby Union, Rugby League, Association football, and hockey competitions will be played to-day, and the Christchurch Harrier Club will hold its annual Kennett Cup steeplechase over a three and a half mile course at the Riccarton racecourse. The chief Rugby match will be between Christchurch and Merivale on the Lancaster Park oval. Albion will play Old Boys at Rugby Park, University will play Linwood on the south ground at Lancaster Park, and Athletic will play Sydenham at the Show Grounds. Sunnyside, at the head of the competition with Old Boys, has the bye. In' the League competition the main match will be between Linwood and Addington, at Sydenham Park. The competition leaders, Hornby, will play Sydenham at Hornby. t For followers of Association football, the biggest attraction will be the meeting of Western B and Western A at English Park. Rangers will meet Linwood at Linwood Pa r * J > Nomads will meet Technical at Richmond Park, and Thistle will meet ot. Albans at Malvern Park. .... In the senior hockey competition, Sydenham will play University at Hagley Park No. 8, Redcliffs will play Selwyn at Hagley Park No. 7, and Technical will play Trinity at Lancaster Park. , Six teams, including one from Dunedin, and two individual runners ha entered for the Christchurch Harrier .
