DOG TRIALS
AMURI COLLIE CLUB The annual trials of the Amuri Conie Club, which commenced on Wednesday, concluded yesterday. Ideal weather prevailed throughout the trials. The huntaway. .with slew, event was completed yesterday, and it produced some high-class work. The winning dog, W. D. Crossley’s, Ross, secured the possible points, and the second—P. Newton » joe—s9l points. The district huntaway went to F. S. Gordon, with Crib, and the maiden huntaway resulted in a tie between A. Ede’s Cash and J. Edes Spring. A fourth event was added to the programme. a short bead, drive, and yard, and this was won by C. A. Parkers Tweed. Detailed results were:— CLASS No. I (Open)—HUNTAWAY WITH SLEW. About 500 yards. Time, 8 minutes. First prize. £6, second £3, third £1 10s. fourth £l. Sheep must be put through three sets of poles. Winner also receives John Little Memorial Challenge Cup (presented by the club In memory of the late John Little), to be held from year to year. (49 entries.)
