WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FARMERS’ UNION
HALSWELL BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Halswell branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the hall. Mrs Kolkman presided over a good attendance. Three new members were welcomed. Miss Atkinson gave an interesting talk on “Diet in Relation to Health. The competition for next month will be for an article made from undyed sugar bags. Competitions results were:—Article from three skeins of wool. Mrs Chapman 1, Mrs Poff 2, Miss Stevens 3; animal toys. Miss Stevens 1, Mrs McNae and Mrs Kolkman (equal) 2. Mrs Gates 4. A competition during the social hour was won by Mrs McNae, with Miss Atkinson second. Afternoon tea was served -by Mrs Parish and helpers.
