REMANDED FOR SENTENCE

HAWERA, May 25,
A story of gambling, cards, and racehorses was told in the Hawera Magistrate’s Court this morning, when Hector Albert Stewart was charged with the theft of £576 6s 2d while in the employ of the Egmont Box Company. The defalcations covered the period from February to May 15 this year. The accused pleaded guilty and was remanded to the Supreme Court for sentence to-morrow.
