BUILDING SUBSIDY
Building operations of an approximate cost of £721,675 7s have been approved, in the Christchurch district, for the receipt of a subsidy under the Number 12 scheme introduced by the Unemployment Board, according to a report furnished to the Citizens' Unemployment Committee at its medting yesterday. It was stated that since the jjcheme had been introduced 1064 applications for subsidy had been received, covering building estimated to cost £794,072 9s. Of these 1028 were approved and granted a subsidy amounting to £61,879 7s 2d. Thirty applications were declined.
