NOTIFIABLE DISEASES IN CANTERBURY
Sixteen cases of notifiable diseases in Canterbury were reported last week. Seven of these were of scarlet fever, which is unusually prevalent. Two deaths occurred from tuberculosis. Details of the cases reported are:—Scarlet fever 7; tuberculosis 2; puerperal fever 1; septic abortion 2; erysipelas 1; hydatids 2; ophthalmia neonatorum 1.
