WOMEN SMOKING
TO THX XDITOB 07 TBI PRESS. Sir, —Someone said the Queen smokes., Just imagine comparing her with some of the pets we meet in our halls and at table with one hand on the hip and the other holding a cigarette and talking through the nose or in child fashion. The Queen never smoked except in private, not in people’s faces.—Yours, etc., EGBERT. March 27, 1936. TO THE XDITOB OF THB PEIBB. Sir,—Will “Atmosphere” tells us the difference between women smoking a few cigarettes in public or at home, and a non-smoking woman being nearly choked at home by her husband smoking in her face, and rearing a family through It. “Atmosphere” says women have a long, long way to go before they reach that stage of perfection which is to be so desired. This applies to both sexes, or one would not see so many, men about liking dear self better than anything, ; and perhaps the price of cigarettes does not suit their pockets, which come first with many, before any re.finement of atmosphere in the home. Really, when it comes to naughty women smoking their money it is just too bad.—Yours, etc., NON-SMOKER* March 27, 1936.
