PARACHUTIST'S DEATH
BODY SENT TO AUCKLAND FOR BURIAL
t*aasa isnnciiTioa TitaaKA.it.i WELLINGTON, March 30. Draped with a flag on which was placed a spray of red poppies, the coffin containing the body of J. S. Fraser, whc was killed on Saturday through his parachute' failing to open when he was making an exhibition jump from an aeroplane at the air 'pageant at Rongotai aerodrome,' was placed on the afternoon train to-day for Au.cklt.nd. Mrs Fraser is at present in Auckland, and,at her request the funeral will be held there tomorrow. The coffin was carried from the mortuary chapel to the hearse, and from the hearse to the mortuary carriage on the train by representatives of the Wellington Aero Club. Among those following in the procession were Wing Commander Wilkes, Director of Air Services, and representatives of the New Zealand Aero Club, the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association, and the Defence Department. The mortuary carriage on the train was heavily draped in black. . The Returned Soldiers' Association is-mak-ing arrangements for the funeral, as Mr Fraser served in the Great War with the 14th Royal Highlanders, and the Royal Air Force. It has not yet been decided when the inquest will be held.
