TRIP TO MOUNT OXFORD

TRAMPING CLUB'S EXCURSION

Though the weather was not promising early in the day, bright sunshine and an excellent view of the surrounding ranges rewarded a party of 18 Irampers from the Canterbury University College Tramping Club, which opened its season yesterday with a trip to Mount Oxford. The irampers left Christchurch at 7 o'clock in the morning, intending to visit the Torlesse Range; but heavy rain at Springfield caused them to proceed to Mount Oxford by the Cooper’s creek route. By mid-day most of the party had reached the summit of Mount Oxford, where they rested before the descent. The, party arrived back in Christchurch at 6.30 p.m.
