CHRISTCHURCH CLUB

There was a strong ebb tide and,a puffy north-west wind for the Christchurch Club’s annual crews' day race, which was held yesterday over the Skylark Avon course, once round. E. Morrison sailed Marlene well to win easily. The results were;—

Marlene (E. Morrison). 12hrs 7min 40scc 1 Nimrod (L. Webb). 12hrs 27min 54scc 2 Elfin (F. Thompson). 12hrs 28mln 45scc 3 The other starters were: Iluia (J. Robertson). Wren (B. Webber). Seagull (A. Black), Gadfly (C. Papps). Rascal i.T. Andrews), Cygnet (R. Ewart). Raweno (W. Kiernan), Malay (L. McDonald), Elaine (R. Hawke). The final of the combined class race was also sailed. Tempest (scr). sailed by T. R. H. Breen, won easily from Omega, sailed by D. Collins.

PLEASANT POINT CLUB

The Pleasant Point Yacht Club held its second race for the Clements Trophy during the week-end. The race was sailed in a good breeze, and very fast times were recorded. The results were as follows: — Usher (scr), J. Knight .. ..1 Saltairc (12min), B. Christenson .. 2 Treasure also started, but retired. During the week-end, Mr A, E. Tyson launched a new boat of the Idle Along class, which appeared to be very fast, in her trials. Mr Tyson will lake the boat to Port Levy, for the Easter holidays.
