On the first session Christchurch players were down; on ttie second they pulled up, but only sufficiently to make necessary a desperate expedient in the last session to win the match. This was tried by one pair calling a vulnerable small slam, which was defeated by the most adverse trump distribution. Christchurch lost bv 3000 points. , ~.,'-■« The Dunedin team consisted of Drs.j Findlay and Fulton, Messrs R.
