RADIO PROGRAMMES
TO THB EDITOR 0» TH* SBESS. Sir,— Through the columns of your paper I have noticed a great deal of criticism of radio programmes. The sore point seems to be 'the Japanese Houseboy and the little bit of "hot jazz" and "rhythm" to which we are rarely treated. I would be very sorry to see these disappear from our otherwise dull programmes. All kind of helpful hints have been offered, but never this one. Let Mr Wilkinson and his friends tune in to some other station and obtain -some more "highbrow" and classic music uninterrupted, when they come across these so-called "detestable Japanese Houseboys," etc. We have had enough of moaners. There are dozens of other stations to pick from, and as soon as something not composed by Strauss or Chopin comes along, the moaner airs his views in the paper. There is no need for the Japanese Houseboy to be "dumped" on Mr Wilkinson.—'Yours, etc., ENOUGH OF MOANEHS. March 10, 1930.
