SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Miss Elizabeth Ritchie (Dannevirke) is the guest of Mrs A. G. Tait (the Rectory,* North street). Sir Alfred and Lady Ransom, who were Mrs Tait’s guests, have returned north, and Dr. and Mrs Peter Davey, who were also guests at the Rectory, have left for the south, Mrs Dobson, who is staying with Mrs Gladstone Robinson (“Oakwood”), will leaye to-day on her return to England. Her cousin, Mrs G. H. R. Ulrich (Wai-iti road), will proceed to Wellington to see her off. The engagement is announced of Dorothy Chisholm, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. A. McKay (Roslyn, Dunedin), and Donald, elder son of Mr and Mrs A. C. Mclnnes (Wai-iti road). ’ * Mrs D, A, Solomon (Dunedin), who was the guest of her mother, Mrs G. R, M. Jones (Seaview* terrace), returned home yesterday. Miss C. Graham (Dunedin) is staying with Mrs C. E. Graham (Campbell street).
Miss T. Lynch is visiting her sister, Mrs J. M. Gibson (Sherwood Downs, Fairlie). Mrs Morton (Fairlie) is staying at Carshaiton (North street).
Miss Ruth Pearse has returned after a ,visit to the North Island. , j Mrs W. A. Moore (Wai-iti ! road) left on Saturday on a visit to Christchurch. -
