FALL FROM TREE IN PARK
BOY DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
David Denley, aged 14 years, of Hewitt's road, Merivale, who fell from a tree in Hagley Park on December 1 and received severe back injuries, died in the Christchurch Public Hospital on Friday night. The accident occurred while Denley was trying to recover a model aeroplane which had caught in some branches near the entrance to, the Gardens. Denley had been in the hospital since the accident.
An inquest into the circumstances of his death was opened before Mr E. C. Levvey, coroner, on Saturday. Evidence of identification was given by a brother, and the enquiry was then adjourned sine die.
