BUTTER FOR EXPORT
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir-Could I. through the medium of your paper ask Mr Agar, the deputyKrman of the Control Board, jf it is the general practice of the dairy factories, when exporting buttei fiom these shores to include in the boxes no stamo of date of manufacture .My reason for asking this question is that I watched, on Wednesday last, some butter being loaded from the store to be shiriped and it had no date ot manufacture on it. Now I consider every box of butter leaving these shores should have, the date of manufactureon it.-Your 6 ,
Springston, February 18, 1936. ["Mr Shackel once again misunderstands the position," said Mr C P. Agar when this letter was referred to him. "The boxes for export, are all dated and even the number of the churning is included, although in a form known only to those engaged in the trade."!!
