OBITUARY

MR HENRY BUTTERS The death occurred recently of Mr Henry Butters, Sneyd street, Kaiapoi, eldest son of Mr Henry Butters, of Eyreton and Kaiapoi. The funeral, which took place at St. Augustine's Churchyard, Clarkville, was largely attended, the service at the graveside beir. conducted bv the Rev. C. L. Sparrcr*. The pallbearers were Messrs W. Butters, G. Cooper, G. Wright, S. Baker, G. Thompson, and E. Hansen. One of the leading figures in the freezing'industry in New Zealand, M> Thomas Simson, until recently general manager of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company, Limited, died today. Mr Simson, who was born in Dunedin in 1867, had been connected with the freezing industry for nearly 50 years, and was regarded, particularly from the engineering point of view, as an authority on refrigeration.
