\i ♦ BOY'S DEATH ■ i . . •. INJURED SPINE IN FALL FROM TREE David Denley, aged 14 years, who was admitted to the Christchurch Pub-. Jic Hospital on December 1 last with injuries received in a fall from a tree in Hagley Park, died last night. Denley, who lived in Hewitt's road, Menvale, had climbed a tree to recover a model aeroplane and fell 20 feet He fractured his spiae, and had since been in hospital. TWO MEN INJURED BLASTING POWDER EXPLODES UNEXPECTEDLY (PBISS ASSOCIATION TILSOBAIt.) . TAIHAPE, February 21. While a gang of five men were blasting at the State forest, Kanoi, near Ohakune, yesterday, powder which had been spilled, and then raked up and bagged exploded Charles Jackson and Charles Glen were burned badly about the face and arms. They were taken to the Taihape Hospital, where they are progressing well. Three other men were slightly injured. FOUND UNCONSCIOUS Francis Toohill, believed to be of Wellington, and formerly of Timaru, a gardener, was found .unconscious lying across one of the stringers of number seven wharf at Lyttelton yesterday morningy He removed to the casualty ward for treatment, and last evening was progressing favourably. Enquiries made by the police show that..Toohill arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning by the Wahine.
