ART UNION PROCEEDS
ALLOCATION FOR RELIEF OF DISTRESS
(PHKSS ASSOCIATION TZLEOBAU.' WELLINGTON, February 14. The £SOOO realised from art union No. 46, which was recently drawn, will be allocated for the relief of distress throughout the Dominion “and distributed among the various mayoral or other officially recognised central relief funds, states the Minister for Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry). An apportionment would be made on the pro rata basis of unemployed registrations, provided the registrations totalled 30 or more. The Minister said that although the distribution Was based on the unemployed reSstrations, those figures were merely ken as an indication of the measure of the distress existing in the various localities throughout the Dominion. The amounts made available were to be applied for the relief of distress generally, - •
