OTAGO CREW SELECTED
EIGHT-OAR CHAMPIONSHIP

v DUNEDIN, February 13.
A closely-contested eight-oar race was held this evening between crews representing upper harbour and the lower harbour in., Ideal weather. The water was smooth, and there was practically no wind. The upper harbour crew had a slight advantage oyer the greater part of the' two-mile course, but was strongly challenged by the lower harbour crew near the finishing line,* the latter drawing level; but Upper Harbour, with excellent blade work and timing, again went into the lead to win by half a length. At the end o fthe race the selectors announced the following crew to represent Otago in the interprovincial contest at Wanganui on Easier Saturday:—!, P. Vallls (str) (Otago), J. D.
