PILOT’S ACCOUNT OF CRASH
(Received February 13, 9.2 p.m.X SYDNEY, February 13. “Everything went black and I must have gone forward, on the joystick, precipitating a dive into the ground,” said Rex Nicholl, referring to his crash yesterday., Nicholl added that he was not subject to fainting fits, but had not been feeling very well yesterday afternoon. An official enquiry was held in camera to-day. Captain Burgess, Superintendent of Civil Aviation, stated subsequently that his report on the enquiry would be presented to the Air Accidents Investigation Committee. • [When a new Moth aeroplane piloted by Rex Nicholl was landing at Mascot .aerodrome on Wednesday it struck a fence near the hangar and burst into flames. Nicholl was thrown clear, but a passenger, who was in grave peril,was sent to hospital with severe bums.] .
