MACHINE-GUNS WANTED
PERTH, September 13,
Thousands of emus are again in-| vading the north-eastern farming districts, and requests are being made for a supply of machine-guns to deal with the menace. - The emus have beaten down large areas o£ crops. The Northampton Road Board, with territory near Geraldton, has paid for?rfjaore than 4000 heads of destroyed emus, and it has required four tons of wood to burn the beaks and heads of those brought in for the payment of the bonus.
