VICTORIAN "WHEELBARROW DERBY"
COMPETITORS IN PAIN (Received June 22, 1.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, June 21. Mr T. Parkinson pushed Mr S. Evans, the passenger in the "wheelbarrow derby," about four miles up Mount Buffalo to-day through three inches of snow. His ankles were swathed with bandages. He has only about five miles to go, with a day and a half still in hand. Mr Evans was chilled to the bone. He has to be massaged at intervals and he blows a whistle vigorously to liven himself up.
