RESIGNATION OF HEADMASTER
"NOT DUE TO ILL-HEALTH" (Pa*SS 4SBOCUTIOII TEHOUAM.) AUCKLAND, June 21 "I have only one thing to say about myself, and that is that my resignation was not due to illhealth," said the Rev. H. K. Archdall, the retiring headmaster of King's College, at a farewell luncheon tendered by the Anglican clergy. Archbishop Averill, Primate of New Zealand, had just concluded a long speech referring to the clergy's sorrow at Mr Archdall's ill-health and the hope that a trip to England would restore him. Mr Archdall, in replying, thanked the speakers for their remarks He did not speak of himself until the end, when he said: "I have been trying to get away from this fellow Archdall. The only thing that I have to say is that my resignation is not due to ill-health." There was a moment of silence when Mr Archdall sat down.
