PRESENTATION The members and friends of St. Paul's Tennis Club met on Saturday afternoon to say ,jood-byo to their president, the Rev. W. H. Orbell, and to Mrs Orbell. In making a presentation of a sil-ver-mounted walking-stick to Mr Orbell, and an electric jug to Mrs Orbell, Mr J. Mawson, the oldest club member, said Mrs Orbell had been a tower of strength to the club. For 21 years she had supplied the milk each Saturday for the afternoon tea, and on every opening day she acted as hostess. Her help in entertaining the visitors was never failing. When it was remembered that neither she nor Mr Orbell played tennis, their generosity was more praiseworthy. Mr Orbell had looked after the interests of the players and represented them on the vestry, with the result that land for two more courts had been secured. Mr Mav/son wished Mr and Mrs Orbell happiness in thei. new home at Akaroa. In replying, Mr Orbell said that he had watched the growth of the club with great pleasure, and he would follow the results of all club matches with interest.
