HEAVY CANCELLATION ON STAMPS
PHILATELIC SOCIETY'S PROTEST
The Christchurch Philatelic Society at its last meeting carried the following motion:— ""That this meeting respectfully draws the attention of the Postmas-ter-General to the unduly heavy cancellations on parcels of the higher values of the present postage stamps. We are of unanimous opinion that a Ureal deal of the educational value of the new issue is entirely lost by the obliterations used by the Post Office, which we do not find to be considered necessary by most other civilued Btstes, judging from the more considerate methods used elsewhere. We would ask that your serious consideration be given to the question of «sing less objectionable methods."
