CARD PAKTV The Hockey Club's card evening, held at the Oddfellows* Hall on Thursday, was well attended. The winners were Mrs T. Lane and Mr P. Morris. Orchestral Society's Concert An enjoyable concert was given by the Kaikoura Orchestral Society at the Mayfair Theatre before a large and appreciative audience. Mr Bernard Rennell (Christchurch) sang several songs, and had to respond repeatedly. He sang "Arise O Sun," "Clothes Props," "A Cartload of Hay," "You Are My Heart's Delight," "The Christening," "Because," and "Trees." Another new porformer was Miss V. Firkin (Timaru), who sang "You Will Never Grow Old," and "Silver Hair and Heart of Gold." Miss A. E. Flower sang "The Secret," "Bless The House," "Achal by the Sea," "Dorothy Perkins," and "Just Because of the Violets." Mr W. R. Teape's violin selections were intermezzo "Cavalleria Rusticana" and "Elfentanz," and Mr E. A. W. Smith's violin selections comprised one of his own composition "Sadumelle," and "Reverie." Misses E. and M. Mackle played pianoforte duets, "Balmoral" and "Bolero." The orchestral items were:-—"Veni, Vidi, Vicl," "Sweet Recollections," "Hungarian Dance No. 2." "Sweet Dreaming," "Masai's Birthday," "Light Cavalry," "Starlet Night" (Mr E. W. Harris cornet soloist), "Philo Senate," and "Voice of the Bells."
