THE ALBURY MURDER
ALLEGED CONFESSION j DISBELIEVED (Received May 5, 8.20 p.m.) ADELAIDE, May 5. The police are convinced that Robert Rae, who is alleged to have confessed to the Anbury murder, had nothing to do with that crime. He was before the court yesterday and was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment for vagrancy. His solicitor said Rae had offered the murder story to a newspaper because he was desperately in need of money. He had actually been 600 miles from the scene of the murder at the time.
