BOMBING MACHINES
ARRIVAL AT LYTTELTON Four Vickers Vildebeeste bombing machines for the Royal Now Zealand Air Force arrived at Lyttelton yesterday by the New Zealand Star, which left London on March 23. The aeroplanes will probably be unloaded shortly after the Anzac Day holiday, and they will be taken to Wigram for assembly and trial. Four similar machines arrived last week at Auckland and are now being assembled at the Hobsonville Air Base under the supervision of an expert from England. The report of the Registrar-General of Ceylon states that during November, December, and January, when the malaria epidemic was raging, 38,156 more persons died than in the corresponding throe months of 1933-34. Most of the victims were children.
