ATTEMPT ON MOUNT EVEREST
o ADVANCE PARTY TO LEAVE NEXT MONTH (Received April 14, 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 14. The advance Mount Everest party, under the leadership of Mr Shipton, who took part in the 1933 attempt, will start on May 2 to prepare the way for the main expedition under Mr Hugh Ruttledge, which will leave in January, 193(5. and attempt to reach the summit in March or early in April. Mr Shipton and two others will reconnoitre the mountain and establish camps.
