HAIRDRESSER BANKRUPT
A meeting of creditors of Colin Hylton Lyford. a hairdresser, of Christchurch, and formerly of Ashburton, was held yesterday afternoon. The Official Assignee, Mr J. H. Robertson, presided. Only one creditor was represented. A deficiency of £l7l 17s 9d was shown. All creditors were unsecured. There were no assets. In his sworn statement bankrupt said that he used to work at harvesting, shearing and bush felling. He acted as a golH buyer for some time. He took up hairdressing three years ago travelling in country districts. Expenses were too great to make the business pay. He had a shop in Ashburton. but that did not show a profit either. His health had been indifferent and some of his liabiltiies were for medical attention. He did not drink or gamble. The Official Assignee examined bankrupt, who stated that he had had no experience in hairdressing when he undertook that occupation. The Official Assignee: Except the sheep shearing. The meeting was adjourned sine die.
