TRAMWAY APPEAL BOARD

EXPIRATION OF TERM OF | PRESENT MEMBERS The term of the two nominated ; members of the Christchurch Tramway Appeal Board will expire shortly, and [ before February 28 notice will be j given to the tramway employers and j the employees to send in their nom- i inations for new members. i The two nominated members of the board are the Hon. W. Hayward, M.L.C.. and Mr J. A. Webb, both of whom have served the three-year term. Mr Hayward's position on the board has been interesting. He was appointed by the Tramway Board which went out of office when the present board was elected in November, 1933. It was suggested in certain quarters that in the circumstances he should not retain membership of the appeal board, on the grouna thai .u.! did not represent the present tramway employers. But Mr Hayward has remained a member of the Appeal Board for the full term. Mr Webb has represented the employees for some time, and it is expected that he will be reappointed.
