THEFTS DURING THE WINTER
+ MANY ARTICLES WAITING FOR CLAIMANTS Goods valued approximately £6OO, part of the proceeds from several homes that were broken into during the winter, are awaiting claimants at the detective office. Arrests have been made concerning these breaks, and the case will come up for hearing on February 19. The first of the robberies with which these goods are believed to be connected was carried out in July last year. The house was entered in the absence of the owners and the place was ransacked. Goods valued at more than £IOO were taken from this place. Raids of a similar nature where the houses were searched thoroughly, occurred ' in fairly rapid succession till now there are about six charges against the thieves. At present there are goods of all sorts wai.ing at the detective office awaiting their owners. Many have so far been claimed, but jewellery, clocks, and all types of household articles are still without claimants.
