DROWNED IN SURF
(PIIISS ASSOCIATION TBLEGBAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, January 28. Owen McGregor, a married man with one child, was drowned in a heavy surf two miles north of Mokau to-day. He was one of a party from Aria spending the day on the beach. He was seen swimming well out and was observed to bo in difficulties. A companion, Mr Barnett, attempted to rescue him, but had to return to the shore, which he reached with difficulty owing to the strong backwash. McGregor disappeared, and his body has noi been found. He is said to have been 3 good swimmer.
