YOUTH SENTENCED
MOTOR-CAR CONVERTED TO OWN USE v rRE33 ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.I FALMERSTON, N., January 28. Leslie Joseph Wallace, aged 18 years, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., on a charge of unlawfully converting n motor-car to his own use. A detective said the car, which was owned by Senior-Sergeant Whitehouse, had been removed from the garage by the accused, who gained entrance by squeezing through the doors. Subsequently he went for a joyride to Feildir.g, where he attracted the attention of the police by driving round the streets continuously sounding the horn. The magistrate said that if these offences were overlooked an epidemic of them would follow.
