CONTROL OF TERRORISTS
♦ HUNGARIAN REPORT TO LEAGUE FIVK OFFICIALS PUNISHED GENEVA, January 13. Claiming that it has now carried ©ut its obligations laid down by the League of Nations, Hungary, in a memorandum, reports that five police officials have how been punished. Though it is impossible to establish a direct or indirect connexion between Hungarian authorities and the Marseilles assassinations the police failed efficiently to control Croatian emigrants. The memorandum denies responsibility lor any connexion with the assassinations.
Two police captains have been dismissed and three policemen sentenced to imprisonment. Stricter measures for the control of foreigners and the issue of .passports are promised. When the matter came before the League Council, Mr R< A. Eden's report asking Jugoslavia and other members of the council to communicate any observations on the Hungarian memorandum in writing to him as rapporteur was accepted.
