AN INTERNATIONAL RIDER VISIT OF H. K. M'KENZIE H. K. McKenzie, a well-known international cyclist, has arrived in New Zealand by the Maheno, on his way to America and England for the jubilee celebrations of King George V. McKenzie is a New Zealand rider. He is a member of the New Plymouth Cycle and Athletic League, and holds the No. 1 license issued by the Australian .Federal Cycling Council. He is registered with practically all world cycling bodies. McKenzie's recent long distance road performances are:—London-Land's End to John o' Groats, 1230.7 miles; John o* Groats-Edinburgh-London, 795.3 miles, completing 2026 miles in 168 hours' riding lime; seven Continental countries in seven days, covering 506.2 miles, traversing Englana, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Luxembourg, France, ~then back to London Via Paris, covering 963 miles on the trip. Crossing the Atlantic by the Empress of Britain after the ride, he completed a ride of 3600 miles from Quebec to Vancouver, via Ottawa, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Winnipeg, and the Canadian Rockies, and Fraser Canyon. Since 1910, McKenzie has entered and competed in practically all the long distance road events in Australia, [ New Zealand, and oh the Continent. He was an entrant for the Tour. de France in 1928, 1930, and 1934, also the championship of the world trials at Brooklands, and Leipzig, Germany. Ke served in the First Anzac Cyclist Battalion in France during part of his service'in the Greqt War. McKenzie also will participate in six days' events on both track and road, to be held during the 1936-37 Centenary celebrations in South Australia.

NOVICE RACING AT SPREYDON

On Thursday evening a novice race was held at Spreydon. It was arranged by several oycling enthusiasts, who had been approached to start a novice club in ...the district. The race was run over a sis ar.d a half miles course, and the finish was very close, the first four riders almost finishing together. The result was: L. Ockwell (scr), time, 16min 49seo .. 1 H. The Marshland Club held a. race recently, the course being from the school to Chaney's Corner and back, a distance of five and a half miles. There were 16 starters, the scratch, men being K. Harris, I Harris, h Whitmore, and J. Craw, who conceded a start of 2min. The race was very interesting, the scretcb men catching the leaders about a quarter of a mile from the finish.
