Ten children of the Wakefield district appeared before the Children's Court in Nelson last week charged with breaking telegraph insulators. A large number of insulators had been broken, and the magistrate, Mr T. E. Maunsell, commented strongly on the practice which exists of wilfully damaging public property. He suggested that the Education Department should instruct; the children as to their duties of citizenship. The offenders were all admonished and discharged on condition that the damage was made
