CROSS-CHANNEL AIR LINE
NEW COMPANY'S PLANS DOUGLAS AEROPLANES TO BE USED (HOTTED PEBSS ASSOCIATION—BY ELXCTBJO rELBOEAPH—COPYBTOHT.) (Received January 20, 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, January 19. Mr Anthony Fokker and Mr K. D. Parmentier are arriving to-day in a Douglas aeroplane of the type which was second in the Melbourne air race to demonstrate the possibility of an hourly service between Gatwick (Surrey) and Le Bourget, making possible a passenger journey from the centre of London to the centre of Paris in two hours 20 minutes. A new company, London and Continental Air Lines, is planning to begin such a service in the summer, with four Douglas machines fitted. with British engines, making 10 trips each way daily.
