o PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED OPENING WITH SERVICE AT ST. PAUL'S (IIEITISI! OFFICIAL WXEEI.ESS.) RUGBY, December 21. The Prime Minister (Mr Ramsay Mac Donald) staled in the House of Commons to-day that the official celebrations in London of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the King's accession to the throne will be inaugurated on May 6, by a thanksgiving service at St. Pauls Cathedra], which the King and Queen and members of the Royal Familv will attend. During the celebrations in London will receive members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of the Empire overseas. Addresses will also be presented to his Majesty by both Houses of Parliament. The King and Queen hope, during the celebrations, to undertake processional drives in different parts of London. Mr Mac Donald said that the King was especially anxious that great expense should not be incurred in the way of decorations in these districts, so that, if the weather is unfavourable a drive may be postponed until another day. Included in the programme oJ: celebrations will be a naval review at Spithead, a military review at Aldershot, and an Air Force review. The celebrations in Wales will include a ceremony at which the King will be represented by the Prince of Wales. During August their Majesties will break their journey to Balmoral at Edinburgh. Arrangements arc being made for extensive flood-lighting of public buildings, etc., during the celebrations.
