CHRISTMAS AT PUBLIC HOSPITAL

ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED Christmas at the Christchurch Public Hospital promises to be extremely happy this year, for the doctors and the members of the staff have devoted a great deal of their spare time to organising all the usual accompaniments of the season. All the wards will be brightly decorated; the children will have a Christmas tree from which Father Christmas will distribute toys to each child. Balloons, presents, and other novelties will be supplied from a special fund created by organisations and by individual helpers. After the distribution of presents the nurses will leave the children's ward and sing carols throughout the hospital. Adult patients will also receive presents, thanks to the efforts of the Hospital Lady Visitors' Association and of the night nurses, who will leave the gifts by each bed early on Christmas morning. There will be two morning services and a Christmas dinner will be given to patients who are well enough to enjoy it.
