MINERS DISMISSED

Between 50 and 60 men employed in the Brunner Collieries, Ltd., mine at Wallsend, five miles from Greymouth, have received notice of dismissal. They have been told that their services will not be required after the holidays. A notice posted at the mine states that • owing to the depression the company has reluctantly been forced to curtail the numbers of their employees, and the names of the men appearing on the list are those who will be retained.
