HALF OF WAGES CUT RESTORED

COOKS AND STEWARDS OF UNION COMPANY (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGSAM.) WELLINGTON, December 21. Half of the 10 per cent, cut in wages has been restored to the cooks and stewards of the Union Steam Ship Company, also those on the Shell Company's tanker Paua and the Westport Coal Company's steamer Canopus. This is in pursuance of an agreement reached this week. The increase is retrospective to December 1, and the Marama, which left Auckland yesterday for Sydney, is the first vessel on which the restoration became effective.
