LANCASTER PARK BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Lancaster Park Board was. held last evening, Mr H. H. Wauchop presiding. There were also present: Messrs J K. Moloney, George King, A. E. McPhail Walter King. R. Bcattie. and J. O McGmivray (secretary). A letter was received from the Canterbury Cricket Association advising tnat the association had arranged the following representative matches to b3' played at Lancaster Park:—Auckland no «r December 25, 26, 27, and 23: Wellington v. Canterbury. Decern-' w J' Januar y 1. 2, and 3. The letter stated that there was a probability tnat a two-day match, Otago v Canterbury, would be played on December 21 and 22, but this was subject to confirmation. The letter was received The Canterbury Cricket Association wrote asking for permission to broadcast the association's forthcoming representative matches from Lancaster Park. It was resolved to grant the request, subject to the condition that the Victory Park Board receive 25 per cent, of the profit. The balance-sheet for the period October 1 to November 22 showed a credit cf £O9 sheet was adopted. A denutation from the Pioneer Snorts Club, consisting of Messrs C. H. _ Taylor and R. H. Livingstone, waited on the board to place before Jt a proposal that the board should join the club. The deputation stated that the Pioneer Sports Club really belonged to the amateur sports associations of Christchurch. The primary objects of the club were to nrovide a central headquarters for all amateur sports bodies in Christchurch and to sutsply social facilities for its members. Eleven central bodies had already affiliated for a period of three years. The subscription per annum amounted to £7 10s. Mr McPhail moved that the board affiliate on the lines suggested by the deputation, and his proposal was seconded by Mr Moloney. The chairman expressed his approval of the proposal, and said that the board was in honour bound to join the club. The motion was carried unanimously. The chairman was elected delegate to the board.
