PIGEON FLYING
♦ SUMNER CLUB The Sumner Pigeon Flying Club recently held a race for old birds from Clinton. The release took place in fine, clear weather, the winning bird being A. and W. Wright's Lady Gay, which flew the distance in 7hrs 33min. The velocities were:—A. and A. Wright's Lady Gay, 905.1 yards a minute; T. Campion's Sky Rover, 902 yards a minute; A. and D. Wilson's Sparrow Hawk, 901.5 yards a minute; R. Thompson's Jack Potts, 900.9 yards a minute; C. Ford's Drum Fire, 898.7 yards a minute.
