CITY COUNCIL AFFAIRS
TO THE EDITOK OF TUB PttESB. Sir.—Can any of your readers inform me if it is absolutely imperative that we pay our rates, seeing the class of people who have the handling of them. If the dominant side allowed a motorcar and petrol, belonging to the ratepayers to bo used for private purposes, it is simply atrocious, as is also the extra payment for coal. One would expect these men to be able to differentiate between right and wrong, but apparently this lesson has yet to be learned. —Yours, etc., learneu. RATEPAYER. November 16, 1934.
