REPAIRS TO DREDGE The Harbour Board's suction-dredge Canterbury is in dock undergoing annual overhaul and survey. The repairs include the replacing of some of the hull plates. From the nature of her work the dredge is heavily constructed, and some of the new plates are threequarters of an inch thick. Renovations to. Theatre The work of renovating the Harbour Light Theatre was commenced yesterday morning, and the building, both inside and outside, presented a busy scene. A large number of painters, carpenters and labourers are engaged in the work which necessitates high scaffolding inside the building. Much of the painting and decorating is to be done by spray-gun. Women's Clubhouse for Yacht Club The admission of women and girls to membership of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club has necessitated the provision of accommodation for them. The lease of a shed known as Grubb's shed, alongside dock, has, been offered the club and women members inspected the premises last evening to report on its suitability. If the offer is accepted working bees will be held to repair and renovate the shed, which is to be suitably furnished. i At a meeting of women members of the club, Miss Monica Roache was appointed to represent women members on the club committee.
